Jacek Gwizdka: I am an academic researcher and an Associate Professor in the School of Information at University of Texas at Austin. I believe in science and scientific evidence as a basis for rational human decision making at all levels of society. I am post-positivist and a critical realist and believe that there is a reality independent of us and an objective truth. Even if uncovering the truth may be unattainable, we can (and should) triangulate across multiple error-prone data sources to get closer to the objective reality. ---------- This blog offers an eclectic mix of topics from mind/brain, to human interaction with digital technologies, to philosophy of science. ---------- The blog expresses my views only.
